Here is a selection of recent animated SVG projects designed for ICAEW. Animated SVGs are SVG graphics enhanced with motion and interactivity, bringing life to icons, data visualisations, and illustrations. Unlike GIFs or video files, animated SVGs are incredibly lightweight - typically under 200k - and fully scalable without pixelation.

The interactive maps designed for Imperial College are another example of the storytelling power of interactive SVGS. Click here and here for examples.

Interactive and customisable

Animations are created using CSS and JavaScript, allowing for flexible, precise effects, from subtle icon animations to complex, interactive visuals. They are incredibly secure and safe and compatible with all html files. They do not rely on external codes or plugins and are fully compatible with modern browsers. They are also easy to update and tailor to different environments or brand developments as all assets can be contained in one file making archiving easy and efficient.

Lightweight, responsive and accessible

SVGs are lightweight using very little memory in comparison to image or video files (typically upto 90% smaller). This reduces your digital carbon footprint, aligning with a commitment to sustainable web practices. SVGs scale seamlessly across devices and screen sizes, supporting accessibility and providing a sharp, fluid experience for every visitor, regardless of device limitations. SVGs can include text and descriptions, making them more accessible to screen readers.
