Climate Launchpad
A competition seeking to address the negative impacts of climate change by ways of innovation,
invention and entrepreneurship. It supports aspiring and promising cleantech entrepreneurs with training,
coaching and networking opportunities.
Innovation Coaching
Dedicated 1:1 coaching service for early career researchers (ECRs) and academics exploring the
commercial potential of an early-stage research idea or technology.
WE Innovate
A six-month programme championing up to 25 women-led teams with entrepreneurial ideas through
masterclasses, business coaching, 1-to-1 expert support, peer mentoring and much more. The final five teams
compete for a chance to win a share of the £30,000 prize fund.
Venture Treks
International trips to a global startup hub for Imperial founders (staff, student or alumni)
interested in growing their business outside of the UK or to explore the investment landscape in another
region. Previous Venture Trek locations include San Francisco, Ghana and New York.
Online Modules
Four interactive self-study modules (typically 3-4 hours each) that provide practical advice and
tasks on studying at the Business School. Modules include video interviews with recent students describing
their experiences of studying at the School, the challenges they faced, and their tips for overcoming these.
Idea Surgeries
Available to all Imperial students, staff and alumni, an Idea Surgery is the first step to unlocking
all the resources on offer at the Enterprise Lab. The sessions aim to help to better understand next steps,
provide practical suggestions and assess what resources would be most beneficial, including one-to-one
coaching or applying to a relevant programme.
Venture Catalyst Challenge (VCC)
Imperial College London’s flagship entrepreneurial competition for Imperial students, alumni and
early career researchers. It takes 25 teams through an intensive programme that supports the development of
their innovative idea, and with a £90,000 prize fund, the chance to win big.
GreenTech Legal Collaborative
A pioneering initiative supporting climate-positive and sustainability-focused startups linked to
Imperial College London by providing pro bono legal assistance. GTLC helps early-stage startups develop and
bring new technologies to market that address climate change and promote sustainability.
Victoria Industrial Estate
The transformation of the 9.6-acre Victoria Industrial Estate in Old Oak into a key part of the
WestTech Corridor, a deep tech innovation ecosystem in West London. The aim is to provide flexible,
affordable space for innovators to scale, supporting growth in the White City Innovation District.
Community Collider
The Enterprise Lab’s monthly social that brings together entrepreneurs from every corner of Imperial
College London. It’s the place where great minds collide, providing an opportunity to join the Enterprise
Lab community in a friendly, relaxed and creative environment.
Commonwealth Startup Fellowship
This Fellowship supports startups from low and middle-income Commonwealth countries, aiming to boost
job creation and entrepreneurial leadership. The six-month programme offers in-person and online activities,
providing hands-on training and tailored support to help elevate their businesses.
AI Super Connector
A six-month cohort-based programme supporting early career researchers to launch high-potential
startups applying artificial intelligence to solve real-world problems.
HTCC
Offers SMEs from across the UK support to accelerate the commercialisation of healthcare
technologies such as medical devices and biotechnologies. Businesses have access to academic consultancy,
facilities, and spaces from Imperial, the University of Hertfordshire, and Cranfield University.
Imperial College Enterprise Fund
Offers alumni and investors a tax-efficient way to invest in early-stage, high-growth businesses
emerging from Imperial's research. ICEF focuses on seed investments in spinouts or deep science ventures
based on academic research or student innovations
London Demo Day
This is an annual celebration that brings together the best and brightest entrepreneurial talent
from London’s leading universities - Imperial College London, LSE, King’s College London, and UCL -
showcasing early-stage businesses raising between £100,000 - £1.5 million.
Q-Legal
A service providing free legal advice, support and resources to entrepreneurs, start-ups and
non-profits. It also enables students, the next generation of lawyers, develop innovative legal skills,
working with real clients.
Jawdrop Events
Just as the name suggests, this is a series of ‘jaw-dropping’ events that serves as a platform for
the exchange of knowledge for academics, startups, scaleups, enterprise and investors. They feature
distinguished panels, great networking opportunities, and a showcase of ground-breaking work.

Imperial Business Partners (IBP) is Imperial College’s flagship industry partnership programme,
connecting businesses with top experts, talent, start-ups, and innovation. Each partner is assigned a
dedicated account manager, providing tailored support and access to a wide innovation ecosystem.
MedTech Collaborative
MedTechOne Collaborative is a branch of MedTechONE, supporting MedTech entrepreneurs at Imperial
College London. The collaborative branch specifically works with local and national networks of different
clinical specialties, including coordinating national evaluations of our technologies in wider clinical
trials.
CIC competition
The Climate Investment Challenge calls on students enrolled to any degree globally to develop and
describe creative financial solutions and innovations addressing the defining challenge of our time –
climate change. The shortlisted teams pitch their innovative climate solutions, competing for cash prizes.
Better Futures Retrofit Accelerator
This initiative offers SMEs developing tech for the built environment a gateway into the London
retrofit market, aiming to remove barriers to entry, support commercial scale up, and in turn, significantly
reduce London’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Global Network of Accelerators
The network aims to scale 10,000 eco-innovations this decade, fostering collaboration between
accelerators, incubators, and other organisations who offer vital support to green innovators to tackle
pressing environmental challenges.
Imperial Investor Network
Over 600 Angel and VC investors who have signed up to receive tailored introductions to investment
opportunities, in addition to regular updates about our entrepreneurial ecosystem via newsletters and access
to the Investor Portal.
DT Prime
Supports science and engineering-intensive commercial ideas to turn from commercial concepts to high
value, investable propositions. It is tailored to and available exclusively for Imperial’s staff who are
commercialising university-based, IP rich ventures that require significant time and grant funding to reach
commercial viability.
EarthScale
Led by Imperial, in partnership with a network of universities across the UK, EarthScale is a
12-month programme designed to support IP-rich climate tech ventures to scale, navigate manufacturing and
raise Series A funding. It offers access to world-class technical facilities, specialist expertise, investor
networks and more.
Health Innovation Prize
Open to all UK university students, this is an opportunity to win £10,000 to fund global health
projects. Projects can address various aspects of global health innovation, such as hygiene or diagnostic
tools. Finalists pitch their ideas in a Dragon’s Den-style event to compete for the prize.
How To Masterclasses
Run by Imperial’s Enterprise Lab, these masterclasses share the fundamentals of starting a business
from experts in the field. Relevant for those looking to perfect their pitch, scrub up on legals or make
sure an idea is financially viable.
Venture Mentoring
Imperial’s flagship venture-based mentoring to support innovators and entrepreneurs t for any
student or staff led venture. Venture teams receive up to three industry experts and seasoned entrepreneurs
as mentors, who work with Imperial startup teams for an open-ended period.
Imperial Projects
Project management support to Imperial's academics working on large-scale commercial projects for
industry, government and non-profit organisations. Projects can range from technical capacity building with
commercial partners to membership programmes and long-term testing initiatives.
SynbiCITE
Based at Imperial, SynbiCITE is the Innovation and Knowledge Centre for Synthetic Biology. Its prime
aim is to accelerate and promote the commercial use of synthetic biology research and engineering biology
applications.
Hack Surgeries
A 15-minute video call with the Hackspace team to discuss projects, research, or start-ups. They
offer troubleshooting support, feedback, advice, or even just a sounding board for new ideas. Sessions are
available every Monday and Tuesday, 10am–11am.
Global Challenge Lab (GCL)
Welcoming students and alumni from diverse backgrounds, this 14-day hackathon offers a unique blend
of workshops, guest speakers, and mentoring. Working in international teams, it aims to connect like-minded
individuals from around the globe.
WestTech Corridor
Bringing together Imperial’s five unique innovation assets across West London in South Kensington to
create a vibrant ecosystem of globally competitive scale, that is a powerful engine for investment,
inclusive economic growth and job creation.
LevelUP
For those curious about developing a new tech skill, LevelUP is a series of pick and mix style
introductory workshops designed to boost technical know-how and to help learn some of the practical skills,
tools, and approaches involved in prototyping at the Hackspace.
Idea Challenge
Putting skills to the test. In an afternoon of brainstorming and problem-solving, teams will tackle
a specific problem using business skills and creativity, and present a short video pitch at the end. It’s an
opportunity to connect E-Lab students, apply innovative thinking, and experience entrepreneurship in action
- with a chance to win a prize.
Experts-in- Residence (XiR)
Access to a network of 100+ seasoned experts across 30+ fields, offering student and staff founders
personalised advice, strategic guidance, and industry insights through one-on-one sessions.
Hackstarter
Designed to turn inspiring, inventive and entrepreneurial ideas into a reality, Hackstarter provides
early-stage ideas with the necessary cash boost (grant funding) to get off the ground. Selected projects
receive £500 Hack Credit to develop a product prototype at the Hackspace.
Hack Demo Day
Hackspace’s flagship event, the annual “Demo Day” exhibition showcases the inventions developed by
the community of innovators and Hackspace members over the course of the past year.
Imperial BE
A series of activities for students of Black heritage at Imperial that aims to explore the
opportunities available in industry, academia and entrepreneurship. It aims to introduce role models,
develop entrepreneurial skills and create a network across Imperial and beyond.
Innovating African Universities (IAU)
Fostering the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship between UK and African universities and
facilitate the development of skills required to build industries, companies, products and services.
Founders Choice
This is Imperial’s spinout formation process which offers staff various levels of support in forming
a startup based on Imperial intellectual property.
MedTech Accelerator
Empowering Imperial Academics, Imperial clinical Academics and ECRs with a support programme to

Social Impact Day
An annual event that brings together industry experts, investors, academics, and students to explore
